WHAT IS EARLY INTERVENTION?

Early intervention is a term used to describe services and support given to families of children ages birth to three.

It is important not to wait if you are concerned.

In the state of South Carolina, families can submit a

self-referral for their child to qualify for BabyNet early intervention services.

These services are free of charge through the state. (click to view a family guide)

STEP 1

BABYNET

SUBMIT A REFERRAL TO BABYNET FOR YOUR CHILD.  There will be a BabyNet Intake Coordinator who will complete an evaluation for your child to determine if they are eligible.

STEP 2

IFSP

If your child is determined to be eligible they will be referred to a service coordinator.  This person will work closely with you to create an Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) and to provide family training.  They will also help you to get services, such as Speech-Language Therapy.

STEP 3

SERVICES

SUBMIT A SEPARATE

REQUEST FORM.

Click the link below to complete our evaluation request form.  Then, bring your concerns to your service coordinator/Early Interventionist.  Let them know you have a preferred provider and that you'd like for services to be added to your child's IFSP.
